I’m at work, and over 60 cases of wine got delivered, with it being my job to put it up…
And that’s ok. It is more your judgement of events that upset you than the events themselves. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself, as the universe keeps putting Stoic ideas in my path, so I’m taking them to be true.
Normally, I would have been ahead of the week by now, but I took monday off, in order to go to a blind wine tasting.
That throws my week into unforeseen chaos.
But, that is the grind. I’m working to be better at blind tasting, the only way to do that is by…blind tasting. You can’t have everything in life, so you have to choose. Order and structure, or growth and change.
I get to have my routine, or I can drive downtown and blind taste, and catch up.
That’s what I’ll be thinking about as I move these freakin’ boxes. Hope you are all safe and warm and happy, as the holiday season descends on us all.
Also, I didn’t say it earlier, but my name is Andrew Roy, and I run a restaurant. I am studying for my advanced sommelier exam, and I also am obsessed with computers, programming, wine and philosophy. I’m trying to answer for myself how I can have a meaningful, fulfilling life working in a restaurant. I’m also super, weirdly, obsessed with War and Peace.
